Each entry describes the main elements of each thinker's contribution to the study of international relations, provides relevant information on his or her life and career, and lists valuable suggestions for further reading and critical analysis. Political science and journalism students, media professionals and anyone with an interest in modern international relations will want this useful work.

'Fills a large gap in the literature and is sure to be widely used. Routledge and Martin Griffiths should be widely applauded for producing such an excellent anthology.'
- Andrew Linklater, Keele University

a brilliant summary of the field of international relations!
I am a first year student at university studying international relations. If you want to know everything you need to know about any of the 'big names' in the field, this is the right book for you! The book covers realists, liberals, critical theorists, postmodernists, historical sociologists, and thinkers on nationalism. It also includes a handy guide to further reading for each key thinker. Brill!

Handy reference guide on the top scholars in IR
I have really enjoyed this book by Griffiths, mainly because it made it a lot easier to finish my final essay in my second-year topic in International Relations. The book saves you a lot of time because it summarises the main thinkers in IR in a way that avoids lots of jargon. If you enjoy the pub more than the library but still want a good mark, this is the book for you.
